「早春」第150回定期走行会レポート／"Early Spring" 150th Ride Meeting Report

 2月の走行会は1週め悪天候だったため2週目の14日に開催しました。曇って肌寒い一日でしたが、咲き始めた梅の花に春の気配を感じることができました。
The February ride meeting was held on the 14th of the second week due to bad weather during the first week. It was a cloudy and chilly day, but the plum blossoms that had begun to bloom gave a hint of spring.

今回は常連さんを中心に9名の参加。山口さんお久しぶり〜

This time, 9 people participated, mainly regulars. It's been a while, Yamaguchi-san!

午後から雨予報だったので距離は短めに設定。野北から芥屋に向かいました。冬場の海岸は観光客もまばら。佐藤さんは地域猫と仲良くなれたようです。

Rain was forecast for the afternoon, so we decided to keep the distance short. We headed from Nokita to Keya. There were few tourists on the winter coast. Ms. Sato seemed to have made friends with the local cats.

次は立石山をヒルクライム。キツい峠だけど頂上からの眺めは格別です。参加して1年のあだちさんが速くなっていてびっくりでした。

Next up was the hill climb up Mt. Tateishi. It's a tough pass, but the view from the top is exceptional. We were surprised to see how fast Adachi-san had gotten after only one year of participation.

福の浦海岸から志摩久家への道すがら、小さな梅園に立ち寄りました。可也山の周囲は食用の梅作りが盛んだったそうです。こちらもおそらくそうなのでしょう。しばし春の風情を楽しませていただきました。

On the way from Fukunoura Beach to Kuga, we stopped at a small plum orchard. Apparently, the area around Mount Kaya was once a popular place for growing edible plums. This was probably the same here. We enjoyed the spring atmosphere for a while.

小富士の干潟にいたのはクロツラヘラサギの群れ。名前のとおりヘラのようなクチバシが特徴で、世界中でもわずか4,500羽ほどしかいない超希少種です。糸島でこれだけの群れを見れたのは幸運でした。こんな発見があるのも自転車の良さですね。

There was a flock of Black-faced Spoonbills on the Kofuji tidal flats. As their name suggests, they are characterized by their spatula-like beaks, and they are an extremely rare species with only around 4,500 remaining in the world. We were lucky to be able to see such a large flock in Itoshima. One of the great things about cycling is that you can make discoveries like this.

今回は弁天橋の入口で解散。お昼は4人で牧のうどん本店に向かい、熱々のうどんで冷えた体を暖めました。

This time we split up at the entrance to Bentenbashi Bridge. For lunch, the four of us headed to Maki no Udon Honten and warmed up with some hot udon noodles.
